In April I was lucky enough to have 3 weeks off from university, so this month I did very little work, watched a lot of TV and ate too much chocolate. In spite of that, I still managed to learn some things this month.
Running is fun?
Okay so I haven’t been running for the last 2 weeks but for the first half of the month I tried really hard and ran 6 days out of 7 for two weeks straight. I’ve dabbled in running over the last few years but have always struggled to comfortably pass the 5 mile point.
However, I recently downloaded the 13.1 app which is a half marathon trainer and I’ve never enjoyed running as much as I do now. It forces you to run in intervals which makes it way more attainable and I’m actually excited to get back to it!
I need more hobbies!
This month I picked up my boyfriend’s guitar and became hooked. I haven’t played the guitar since I was about 15 so although I remembered the basics, I was so rusty. I also collected my ukulele from home and I’m determined to get better at the two this year.
I’m so grateful for blogging.
This month I went to London to visit my sister and to attend the #TalkMH meet in Hyde Park. As well as finally getting to meet some people that I’d been speaking to online for a year, I also met some brand new people and had the most fun day.
It really made me realise just how much blogging has opened doors for me. And there’s no way that I could have gone to an event by myself a year ago without talking myself out of it.
Instagram will never be my priority.
After really trying to gain followers on my Instagram account last month, I started to feel seriously disappointed with how slow things were going. I tried to start a theme and I aimed to comment on new people’s photos routinely but I just wasn’t getting anywhere.
So I gave up. I changed my routine to posting twice a day and not worrying about whether my photos fit a theme or not. Let’s be real now, about 80% of my photos are coffee anyway. And miraculously, my Instagram is growing and I’m not stressing about it!
What did you get up to this month? Let me know in the comments!
