I’m back! Maybe you didn’t notice that I’d been gone but aside from Twitter, I fell off the blogging planet for a while. In terms of blogging breaks, it was definitely on the shorter side (I’ve only been gone a month), but in that time I’ve realised a few things about my blog.
First things first, I needed a freshen up. There wasn’t anything that I disliked about my layout necessarily, but I was just over the pink. I love a clean theme and so I’ve gone back to basics with black and white.
Another thing that fell by the wayside was Instagram. Everyone and their dog is moaning about Instagram engagement right now and although I don’t care about how many Instagram followers I have, it is pretty annoying to set up a photo (haha as if I do that), edit it and post it, only to get a handful of likes and no engagement. So I’m taking a different tack, rather than ‘upping’ my game, I’m stripping it back. No themes, few set ups, just real life.
The third thing is organisation. I’m taking my bullet journal seriously this time and planning out posts, social media, everything is in that Leuchtturm, and if it’s not it’s not happening. I will never be the bullet journal goddess that is Twenty Something Meltdown, but I can almost draw a freehand straight line, and if that’s not progress then I don’t know what is.
The fourth and final change is content. I have a schedule now! So (hopefully) there’ll be more constant content, rather than sporadic bursts of daily blogging and then nothing. Content wise, there’s going to be more of everything, more mental health, more wellness, more of those rambling think pieces and possible a little bit of beauty included, but don’t expect any fancy flatlays because I’m just not that kind of girl!
